Why have a Personal Chef?

For those who have a busy schedule, planning, shopping and preparing meals can be overwhelming.  Instead of wondering what’s for dinner or giving in to fast food, you can have a healthy, balanced, delicious meal waiting for you in your refrigerator.  Whether you’re single or a family of six, eating well and relaxing at the table makes everyone feel good!

 

What is included in a Balanced Meal?

Usually this will include a meat or seafood, a starch side dish such as potatoes or rice and a vegetable side dish so that you are eating a good balance of protein, carbohydrates and vitamins in each meal.  Depending on your preferences, salads, soups and casseroles will round out your meal plan.   

 

How do I heat my meals?

Most of the dishes I prepare for you can go from refrigerator to oven to the table.  Some require a few minutes in a sauté pan or microwave.  All food is packaged for your convenience in covered glass containers, disposable plastic or vacuum sealed bags.  All containers are clearly labeled with directions for reheating. 

 

How do I know which side dishes go with each main dish?

I prepare a Suggested Menu especially for you so there is no guessing.

 

What is included in my Personal Chef Service?

Your service is all-inclusive.  Menu planning, groceries, travel to your home, cooking, storing, labeling of your meals and clean up.  There are no additional costs to you with following exceptions:

   1.  Sudden special requests or variations from the menu I prepare especially for you.

   2.  Because they will belong to you, reusable storage containers, either glass or hard plastic are not included but I can provide them for an additional charge. If you prefer, I can also provide disposables, at cost, on each cook day. The above will be determined and discussed at our initial meeting so there will be no surprises.

 

What will our initial meeting include?

 We will set up a time convenient to you where we will discuss your food likes and dislikes, any food allergies or special dietary requirements you may have.  We will take a look at menu options and decide those that will work best for you and your family.  I will take a look at your kitchen to advise on storage space in your refrigerator and freezer as well check the oven for correct temperature.  We will also decide on your cook day.

 

What is my Cook Day?

Because each client is unique, we will set up a day and time for either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly service that works well into your schedule. I will generally be in your home for 4-5 hours. You do not have to be at home while I am there, however, should you prefer to be there, it is important that interruptions be kept to a minimum so I can complete your meals in a timely manner. 

 

How do I pay for my Personal Chef Service?

After we decide on your cook day you will be asked to pay for your first day of service.  As menu planning and shopping are done before I come to your home to cook, I ask that each cook day be paid for in advance.
